Transport Fever 3 launches September 29 on PC and current consoles
Urban Games and Paradox Interactive schedule Transport Fever 3 for September 29, 2026. The computer release covers Windows, Apple Silicon Macs and Linux through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. The console release covers PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; no PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo version is announced in the first-party pages reviewed here.
The official announcement says the game launches across these platforms on the same date, but it does not publish one universal unlock time. PlayStation's current US listing shows 16:00 UTC, while PC and Xbox timing should be checked on their own storefronts. The live Steam record has no public demo, and the official FAQ says closed beta applications are no longer open.
| Platform | Announced storefronts | Current limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG | Exact PC unlock time not published in the sources reviewed |
| macOS | Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG | Apple Silicon only; M2 Pro is the published minimum |
| Linux | Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG | Ubuntu 24.04 or higher is the published Steam target |
| PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store | No PS4 version announced |
| Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Store | No Xbox One version announced |
What do you do in Transport Fever 3?
The core loop is to plan profitable passenger and cargo routes, build railways, roads, shipping lanes and air links, then adapt as towns and industries grow. Vehicles create revenue but also maintenance costs, while traffic, station bottlenecks, noise, pollution, delivery priorities and citizen satisfaction affect how well the network works.
The official FAQ describes eight separate campaign missions in historical settings, with the opening section doubling as a tutorial. Tycoon mode adds company progression, contracts, subsidies and adjustable challenge systems. Sandbox play can relax or disable the economy for free-form building, and the map editor supports custom landscapes.
| Mode | Official scope | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | Eight historical missions with an introductory tutorial | Structured scenarios rather than one continuous free-play map |
| Tycoon | Economy, company ranks, contracts, town needs and customizable challenge | Systems such as noise, pollution and reputation can be tuned |
| Sandbox | Free-form network and city building | The economy can be disabled for creative construction |
| Map editor | Create custom landscapes for play and sharing | Listed separately from the three main game modes |
There is no multiplayer, but mods are planned across every platform
Transport Fever 3 is a single-player game. Urban Games says it has not shifted resources into either cooperative or competitive multiplayer, and the current Steam, PlayStation and Xbox listings all describe one-player play. This page does not infer future multiplayer from the stores' generic user-interaction notices.
Mods are planned on computer and console through an integrated mod.io browser. Urban Games says the same mod library is intended to be available across Steam, Epic, GOG, PlayStation and Xbox, so Steam Workshop will not be included. Manual mod downloads remain possible outside the browser, but the FAQ does not promise that every community mod will work identically on every device.
| Feature | Current answer | Evidence limit |
|---|---|---|
| Co-op or competitive multiplayer | Not announced | Official FAQ describes a single-player focus |
| Integrated mod browser | Planned on all announced platforms through mod.io | Individual mod availability and certification can vary |
| Steam Workshop | Not included | Replaced by the shared in-game browser |
| Map editor | Included | Final sharing workflow has not been hands-on tested here |
Standard, Deluxe and Collector's Edition differences
The announced US prices are $49.99 for Standard and $64.99 for Deluxe on PC, versus $59.99 and $74.99 on consoles. A physical Collector's Edition is listed at $119.99 and was announced as an initial run of 10,000 units through the official merchandise store. Availability, shipping and taxes depend on region.
Current Steam, PlayStation and Xbox product pages describe the Deluxe upgrade as six vehicles, two landmarks, four animals, three handcrafted maps and additional extras including franchise music. An August 25 publisher press release instead says 11 vehicles, so the first-party records conflict. This guide uses the live product-page breakdown for purchase decisions and recommends checking the cart description before paying.
| Option | US announced price | Included content |
|---|---|---|
| Standard PC | $49.99 | Base game; eligible pre-orders also receive the Pre-Order Pack |
| Deluxe PC | $64.99 | Base game plus current live-store Deluxe content; eligible pre-order pack |
| Standard console | $59.99 | Base game; eligible pre-orders also receive the Pre-Order Pack |
| Deluxe console | $74.99 | Base game plus current live-store Deluxe content; eligible pre-order pack |
| Collector's Edition | $119.99 SRP | Digital Deluxe key plus physical collectibles; limited first production run |
| Pre-Order Pack | Included with eligible pre-orders | TS Queen Mary, Great Pyramid of Giza and Asian elephant |
Transport Fever 2 loyalty discount and content-count caveats
Transport Fever 2 owners are promised a 10% loyalty discount on the Standard or Deluxe Edition when the new game is pre-ordered or bought on the same account and platform. The official offer runs until 14 days after launch; cross-platform ownership does not satisfy the stated condition.
Official pages do not currently agree on the vehicle total: the live Steam feature list says 275+ vehicles and more than 125 years of transport evolution, while the official FAQ says more than 300 vehicles across 120+ years. Rather than turn either promotional count into a precise launch inventory, this guide records the discrepancy and will recheck the final release documentation.
| Claim | What is confirmed | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Transport Fever 2 loyalty offer | 10% off Standard or Deluxe through 14 days after launch | Same account and same platform are required |
| Vehicle count | First-party pages say either 275+ or 300+ | Final launch inventory and whether counts use the same definition |
| Historical span | Starts around 1900 and extends to 2030 and beyond | Promotional pages describe the span as 120+ or 125+ years |
| Public demo | None listed in the Steam app record | A demo could still be added later |
Transport Fever 3 Windows, Mac and Linux requirements
The comparison below shows the current Windows tiers. Steam separately lists macOS Sequoia 15.7 with an Apple M2 Pro and 16 GB RAM as the minimum, rising to an M4 Pro and 24 GB for the recommended tier. Intel Macs are excluded. Linux guidance starts at Ubuntu 24.04 and otherwise mirrors the Windows CPU, memory, GPU and 90 GB storage tiers.
The published component lists do not state target resolution, frame rate, graphics preset, SSD requirement or Steam Deck rating. They are pre-release publisher requirements, not independent performance tests, and should be checked again after the final build is available.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X | Intel Core i7-13700K / AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D |

| Graphics | GTX 1060 / RX 480 / Intel Arc A380, 4 GB VRAM | RTX 3070 / RX 6800 / Intel Arc A770, 8 GB VRAM |
