What is Aniimo?
Aniimo is a free-to-play open-world creature-collecting RPG from Pawprint Studio. Players catch creatures with Aniipods, evolve them, and use the Twine mechanic to directly control an Aniimo for exploration, puzzles, and combat across the continent of Idyll.
Steam lists single-player, online co-op, online PvP, and cross-platform multiplayer. The store description also identifies Egg Heist as a three-player-team PvEvP activity. Those are publisher and storefront descriptions; this page does not make untested claims about progression speed, monetization value, server stability, or performance.
Aniimo platforms and mobile release date
Aniimo is live on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The official launch notice names the standalone Windows client, Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox. Xbox also lists cloud play, Play Anywhere, and cross-platform multiplayer.
The iOS and Android versions are scheduled for September 23, 2026. Pawprint says players who begin on PC can sign in on mobile with the same account and continue their progress, subject to the same-server rule explained below.
| Platform | Store or access | Status | Important detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Official launcher, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox app | Live | 40 GB free space; SSD recommended by the official installation notice |
| PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store | Live | PSN region automatically determines the Aniimo server |
| Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Store | Live | Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-platform multiplayer are listed |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | Xbox cloud service | Live | Access and playtime depend on Microsoft account or subscription status |
| iOS and Android | App Store and Google Play | Scheduled for September 23 | PC-to-mobile progress is confirmed when the same account and server are used |
How Aniimo cross-progression and account linking work
Aniimo supports shared progress across PC, console, and mobile, but the official rule has two conditions: the platform accounts must be linked to the same Aniimo Pass and the character must be on the same server. Data on different servers is independent and cannot be treated as one shared save.
The console linking step is especially important. On the first login from a PSN or Microsoft account that has never opened Aniimo, a popup offers the chance to link an existing Aniimo Pass email. The official notice says that if this prompt is skipped, that console account creates a new Aniimo Pass and cannot later be self-linked to an existing game account.
| Situation | Official result | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Same account and same server | Progress is shared across supported platforms | Use the same Aniimo Pass and verify the server before creating another character |
| Different Aniimo servers | Character data is independent | Do not expect a character or progress to move between America, Europe, and Apac |
| First login on PS5 or Xbox | A one-time popup can link an existing Aniimo Pass | Complete the link before continuing; do not skip the prompt if you already have progress |
| Existing PC character moving to PS5 | The PS5 server is assigned from the PSN account region | Confirm that the PSN region maps to the server holding the existing character |
| PC character moving to mobile | Pawprint confirms that PC and mobile share data | On or after September 23, sign in with the same account and stay on the same server |
Why Steam can show a September 15 release date
Pawprint's global reference date is September 16, but the America server opened at 10:00 p.m. UTC-4 on September 15. Steam therefore displays September 15 in some regions. These are timezone views of the same worldwide rollout rather than two different PC releases.
The launch times below are historical now that the servers are live, but they explain the date difference in current storefronts and search results. Mobile has a separate September 23 date; the official launch notice had not published a precise mobile opening time when this page was checked.
| Server | Published opening time | Calendar date |
|---|---|---|
| Aniimo-America | 10:00 p.m. UTC-4 | September 15, 2026 |
| Aniimo-Europe | 2:00 a.m. UTC+0 | September 16, 2026 |
| Aniimo-Apac | 10:00 a.m. UTC+8 | September 16, 2026 |
Is Aniimo free, and is there a demo?
Aniimo is free to play. Steam and Xbox both provide the full live game without an upfront base-game price, while the official stores disclose optional in-game purchases. There is no reason to buy a separate demo because no separate demo product is currently listed.
Paid currency, passes, and optional packs should not be confused with the price of entry. This page does not judge the value of those purchases because it has not tested the live economy or progression curve.
Official Aniimo PC requirements
Steam's minimum tier calls for 64-bit Windows 10, a Core i7-4770 or Ryzen 7 2700, 8 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 5600. The recommended tier raises that to a Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 5 5600, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6700.
Steam lists DirectX 11 and 40 GB of available storage at both tiers, but Epic lists DirectX 12 and a 40 GB SSD at recommended. Pawprint's installation notice also recommends an SSD. Because the first-party listings differ, the main table preserves Steam's internally consistent pair while the comparison below records Epic's stricter recommended wording instead of silently merging the two.
| Source | Minimum wording | Recommended wording | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | DirectX 11; 40 GB available | DirectX 11; 40 GB available | No SSD requirement is printed in Steam's table |
| Epic Games Store | DirectX 11; 40 GB | DirectX 12; 40 GB SSD | Epic publishes a stricter recommended storage and DirectX line |
| Official installation notice | Reserve at least 40 GB | Install on an SSD for the best experience | This is installation guidance, not a measured performance target |
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | 64-bit Windows 10 | 64-bit Windows 10 or later |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700 | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or better |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon RX 5600 | GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6700 or better |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
