The US Steam storefront currently displays September 16, which reflects the store's regional unlock display rather than a separately announced PC edition.
Use September 17 as the publisher's canonical date, then check the countdown on your own storefront for the local unlock. This page does not claim an exact worldwide launch hour because the publisher sources checked did not publish one.

How the Trails 2nd Chapter demo save transfer works
The free demo begins after the events of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and can be played through the end of Chapter 1. PlayStation's official demo listing says any demo save data can be carried into the full version so the journey can continue.
That confirmation should not be stretched into cross-platform transfer. The official wording confirms demo-to-full-game continuity, but it does not say a Steam save can move to PlayStation or that a Switch save can move to another platform. What kind of RPG is 2nd Chapter?
This is a direct story sequel to Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, following Estelle after Joshua disappears. Falcom describes it as the second installment of the full-remake project rather than a remaster of the old release.
The remake retains the prior game's two-part combat structure: Quick Battle handles field encounters in real time, while Command Battle provides turn-based party tactics. Steam lists the game as single-player with achievements, cloud saves, HDR, and Family Sharing.
Official PC requirements are still incomplete
